Observers Entry Form

The Rotary Club of Oriental places a volunteer observer on each boat to officially record Tarpon catches and releases. The minimum age for observers is 18.

As an observer, you can expect to have two fun-filled days on the waters of the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound with some great contestants. Officials at the Observers Meeting on Friday will go over everything you need to know, including a look at a five-foot tarpon so there will be no doubt as to what you will be "observing".

Just bring a cooler with your lunch and drinks. Don’t forget your hat, sunglasses, suntan lotion, and definitely a camera to show everyone on Monday what you did over the weekend.

To show our appreciation, we’ll give you a Tarpon Observer T-shirt and a ticket to the Barbecue dinner on Saturday. The Observer Photo Contest awards prizes for the best three photos submitted. Prizes are $150, $100 and $50
