About the Artist

World Wide Deb aka Debbie Cox is a resident of Chapel Hill, NC. Debbie has been an artist-in-residence in California and North Carolina.

"My work is influenced by the time I spent in California and more recently by my visits to the North Carolina coast. I began working with pastels to get quick results from ideas and images I gathered-as opposed to waiting for paint to dry-but soon found that I liked the rich colors and textures they gave my work.

Themes revolve around "accidental" tourists, dogs, fish, birds and weather. Subjects often seem to be frozen in an off-beat moment in time-hopefully the element of humor will be found somewhere."
